In my home country Midsummer Night is about huge bonfires, sending witches back where they came from, talking to friends and neighbours and having a laugh. It is a night filled with both joy, mystery and terror all at once, depending on how you look at these festivities and how many horror stories you dare to listen to.

In all old cultures Midsummer played some sort of role. Either as a reason to create huge bonfires, praising old gods and eat plenty of food - or as a spooky tale about fairy folks entering the ordinary world and shimmering magic suddenly being visible for a short period of time - or as a symbol of love, fertility and beauty of Mother nature - or just another reason to drink, eat and fornicate in orgie style as if there was no tomorrow!

What this contest is about, is to participate not only in a summer event, but also let your imagination run free and show the rest of us, what Midsummer Night means to you or how you might wish it was in your dreams/nightmares!

About this Contest:
Show us what Midsummer Night is/could be to you. Feel free to let your imagination run wild, no matter if you go something in the real world, fantasy, horror or dreamy stuff.

You can draw 1 image per class, showing a scene or a short story to get your idea out there. Text is not needed to tell a story - we much prefer the art to tell it anyways. You can use speech bubbles in comic book style if you want though. And one image can also be one comic book page or just a regular single drawing etc. That is up to you.

What we are looking for are artists having fun on this theme, without us breaking down what the theme exactly means. So you get a lot of freedom!

You also get a lot of time, so we will be looking for effort, detail, color use, composition and artistic story telling when judging!

NOTICE!
Judges can naturally not help judge any class they may choose to enter.
Danesippi may enter any class but automaticly gets placed last.

Art Guidelines:
Everyone are welcome to participate, you just have to be a dA member.
Art must be original and made solely for this contest.
No premade lineart, no reusing old images or linearts.
Characters must be existing already before April 1st OR be official Shedu cats.
Mixed media is allowed as well as photo manips using 3 stock photos or more.
Drawn and painted medias allowed, digital or traditional.
PG13, mature and adult art allowed - just follow dA rules.
Anything else - please feel free to ask!

Class One: Shedus
Entry for this class must include at least one Shedu with official design in the SheduCats group. Handler as well as other animals are optional. Shedus only, no regular house cats or tigers etc as main character.
You may think of this contest as a training race, or just simply draw your Shedu in these settings for the fun of doing art, depending on if you want it in your storyline or not.

Meaning anything from humans, werewolves, vampires, felines, canines, dragons, fantasy critters, fawnlings and so on. Main character must have an existing reference, meaning it can not be created for this show only, it must exist as a character since before April 1st.
